Galaxy S6 mini release date

The Galaxy S5 came out this year, and with it, the Galaxy S5 mini, which offers almost the same software experience with slightly watered down tech specs and in a smaller, compact size. The Galaxy S6 mini will likely follow in Samsung's mini trend and be announced just a few weeks after the Galaxy S6, which is presumed to come out at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in March 2015.

Galaxy S6 mini price

The Galaxy S5 mini started at 488.99 USD but has dropped drastically to around 317.33 USD since its arrival. It will likely come out a similar price point off contract, but mobile providers are sure to offer it with little or no downpayment and monthly installments.

Galaxy S6 mini specs

So far, we’ve heard nothing about the S6 mini specs, but it is safe to say that it will be an upgrade over the Galaxy S5 mini. The latter, without being totally mindbloggling, is actually quite good, and offers a pixel density of 326 ppi, easily surpassing the Galaxy S4 Mini (256 ppi). The S6 mini is sure to come with a Super AMOLED display of around 4.7 inches, and probably Full HD.

We’re hoping the Galaxy S6 mini will follow in step with the S5 mini whose tech specs actually impressed rather disappointed as was the case with the Galaxy S3 mini and S4 mini. What we expect is that it will come with an octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, and a micro SD card. The battery should be removable, unless it comes with a metal unibody as previously rumored about the Galaxy S6, and will run Android 5.0 Lollipop or higher. Of course, you can expect to see Samsung’s user interface TouchWiz gracing the home screen on the upcoming phone, and this is allegedly being completely built from scratch with the Galaxy S6 to bring new features, including a Themes Store for customization.

Galaxy S6 mini design

Seeing as we know that Samsung is currently testing out two models for the Galaxy S6, one with a metal and the other polycarbonate plastic, it’s safe to say the Galaxy S6 mini could come in either material, but for now we haven’t heard anything on the matter. The Galaxy S6 mini, if metal, could resemble the Galaxy Alpha, or the Galaxy A3 or A5.
